MEET THE TEAM
“Our passion for running has led us on countless journeys, from races to epic adventures that test our limits and fuel our love for the sport. We embrace every aspect of running, from the thrill of the finish line to the quiet miles that build resilience.”
Ryan
I’m Ryan, co-founder and coach at RTC, and I’ve been running for over 15 years. While I was a keen team sports player in my early years, my passion for running didn’t develop until later in life.
It all started with a half marathon and quickly took off from there. I’ve raced distances ranging from 5km to 180km and have experienced running at the front, middle, and back of the pack, giving me a well-rounded perspective to coach runners of all levels.
Now, living in the mountain town of Chamonix, France, I have the perfect playground to fuel my passion for running and share that enthusiasm with others.
My favourite race to date has to be the Lavaredo Ultra Trail in the Dolomites, it’s a race I’ve ran twice and just love the mountains and landscape. It’s not just about the mountains though, I’ve been lucky enough to run some incredible road marathons in my time with Seville being the standout race for me.
Why do I coach?
It’s time to start helping others. I’ve been in the running game a long time now and have built up a lot of experience and knowledge that I want to share. I was involved in a coaching set up at my old running club and to be honest it was so much fun and really rewarding. I felt now was the time to get back to doing that and help people reach their goals.
Are you qualified?
I hold the UESCA certification for Running and Ultra Running. I am also working towards further qualifications as I believe that as a coach, it’s important to keep up to date with changes and new methods. I want my athletes to continue to improve and that is also true for me as a coach. However, after gaining my certifications I decided I would spend some time coaching some athletes for free, I didn’t feel right going straight into the paid ranks so I took on four athletes and worked with them to give me first hand experience at dealing with real life runners again. There is a big difference to what you learn during your studies and actually putting into action.
Emma - Coming soon
I’m Emma, co-founder at Run Together Coaching. Like Ryan, I have been running for over 15 years and what started off as a personal journey for a healthier lifestyle soon turned into a way of life.
My racing career has taken me from the streets of Newcastle to the European alps and many other destinations in between. My favourite distance is 100km but I have ran races from 100 meters all the way up to 100 miles and everything in between.
I have competed in over 50 ultra marathons and I’ve been fortunate enough to win and podium at a number of races in the UK and Europe but my proudest achievement was a top 10 finish at the super competitive Ultra Pirineu 100km in Spain.
I’m currently in the process of working through my coaching qualifications and will be available soon to take on new clients and help you achieve your goals and become the best runner you can be.
